Learn How to do an Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge Install at Home

What is an Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge? An air–fuel ratio meter monitors the air–fuel ratio of an internal combustion engine . Also called air–fuel ratio gauge, air–fuel meter, or air–fuel gauge, it reads the voltage output of an oxygen sensor , sometimes also called AFR sensor or lambda sensor. How Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor Works Benefits of Installing an Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge Different Air/Fuel Ratio Gauges Available in the Market The One We Picked Tools Required for Installation Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge Installation Step-by-Step Tools: -Air/Fuel Gauge (I used an autometer sport) -1 wire 1 volt O2 sensor (narrowband Bosch) -Wire insulation -22mm Open End wrench -Extra 18gauge wire (any color) -PB Blaster (optional) -Wire taps (16-18 gauge) -Heat Shrink Tubing (Optional) -Zip Ties -Wire Crimper -Solder/Electric tape (or you could use those small red tubes that connect the wires together...ur choice) Step By Step 1: I didnt disconnect my battery so i just started o...

Engine port matching principles/basics

Engine Port Matching Principles and Basics Engine port matching helps make performance gains by making the airflow more streamlined. It is usually performed because the inlet and outlet ports on the engine block are usually larger than those of the manifolds that connect to them. This allows for scope in the manufacturing process to allow for mismatched alignment. Generally the engine ports are larger in the upstream flow direction avoiding turbulence but power gains can be made by matching these up. Most internal surfaces are far from smooth due to the casting process so small gains are there to be had by smoothing out the rough edges although polishing the insides offers little if any extra gain. Engines need to breathe as freely as possible and obstructions, seams and pits cause turbulence and this is not very good for airflow. Generally speaking most standard non performance cars will benefit greatly from even a little DIY head porting. A high performance engine ...

Nitrous kits:Do's and Dont's

Nitrous Oxide I have to admit, I love Nitrous Oxide for use in dual purpose street cars. The reasons are simple:nitrous kits are cheap,it is easy to hide, and it is easy to tune and maintain. These reasons coupled with understanding how Nitrous works, and how to use it CORRECTLY make it a good performance booster. Nitrous adds power by adding extra oxygen in a compact form into an engine. Of course,to combust this extra oxygen you need a corresponding amount of extra fuel to accomplish this. Nitrous also cools down the intake charge, making it denser, thereby allowing more molecules per cylinder-making more power. There is no limit in how much liquid Nitrous Oxide you can get into a motor, but the motor itself can only take so much stress before it breaks something. Because nitrous increases cylinder pressure-a product of stuffing more oxygen into a cylinder, rods usually bend before anything else breaks. Running a Nitrous engine lean will cause "hot spots" on...

Supercharger install (Civic si)

Found this great detailed diy supercharger install .Enjoy :) : This DIY is intended to be a great supplement to the CTe instructions. This is all at your own risk and if for some reason something doesn't work out for you as it did me, i am not responsible Instruction time : step 1 . remove your battery completely. ( this is for extra space and it makes things easier. step 2 . remove your ecu, affix your stage 2 reflash form directly to your ecu case and mail to hondata. package your ecu well with as much padding as you can find. its delicate. step 3 . remove the fuel rail cover ( carbon fiber thing) then bleed pressure off the fuel rail by detaching it on the right hand side and put a rag underneath it when you do so in case some fuel spills. step 4 . remove the studs that hold the fuel rail spacer ( carbon fiber thing) to the rail so you can remove the rail. step 5 . remove the fuel rail, you can unclip the electronics from the rail with the 3 clips then unplug you...
