How to Reset ECU and Throttle Body Like a Pro at Home in 2024

Why Should i Reset My Car's ECU? ECU Reset Benefits :

Very few people are aware of the fact that when you reset your ecu after small bolt on mods the car learns the new driving conditions and performs better, so here's a little DIY guide about manually resetting your ecu and throttle in 2022.

Step by Step Ecu and Throttle Reset Procedure Manual :

  • First what you need to do is to disconnect the negative lead from the battery for a minimum of 45 minutes. Some experts recommend this period to be around 12 hours but that is not really necessary.
  • After 45 minutes have passed, you can go ahead and reconnect the battery negative lead.
  • The next step is to get in the car and put ignition key in, turn to MAR and leave for 90 secs.
  • Next, turn off the ignition, but make sure that you do not remove the key. Leave for around 90 seconds.
  • After you have waited for 90 seconds go ahead and start the engine. But do not touch the throttle and let the car idle for 15 mins otherwise the car will not rev freely afterwards.
  • You will have to turn the car off again and leave it for 10 another minutes.
  • Well well my little DIY maestro you have done it. You can now start the car and take her for a spin.
